The cuisine of Singapore is often regarded by people as a unique blend of the diverse cultures of Singapore. The food in Singapore has a good influence of Malay, Chinese, Indian, Indonesian, and even Western style of cooking.
It is often said that the cuisine of Singapore has a resemblance to the diverse cuisine of Penang, North Malaysia. In Singaporean hawker stores, chefs of a Chinese ethnic background might serve you food with some Indian influences such as tamarind, turmeric and ghee.
